Stainless steel can endure high temperatures better than plastic and does not rust, making it durable. Typically, the temperature can go up to 160° F to kill bacteria and clean the dishes. Stainless steel dishwashers consume less energy, dry faster, and retain heat more efficiently. Overall, stainless steel dishwashers have a longer lifespan, do not need frequent replacements, are resistant to staining, and are durable.

5. Design and finish
Stainless steel is the most sought-after finish for most kitchen appliances. But one can also find other finishes, like glossy black, white, or brushed-metal look. Bar style handles and hidden controls also add to their appeal and are usually found in top-performing models. Some models will have a recessed pocket handle over a bar that coordinates well with appliances of similar finish from other brands. One can also find dishwashers with a stacked-drawer design, allowing compartments to be used separately. However, these will be pricey.
